Attunement-Initiation
I have been asked many time what is the difference between an initiation and attunement.For some people there may not be any difference as the twowords are used interchangeably. In my experience I have used these words to describe different aspects of our spiritual journey.
For me the word attunement is just that. Much like a tuning forkan attunement, works with the principle of resonance. Ifone prong of the fork is struck the opposite will begin to vibrateby picking up the vibration of the other. This process is used in most Reiki / Seichimattunements through the use of a ritual that involves symbolsand hand placements and in most cases requires the presence ofanother individual. If the vibration of that individual is higherthan the other the vibration of the lower person may accelerateto match the vibration of the other, much like that of the tuningfork.
The word initiation used in a spiritual context is much different.The presence of another person is not necessary. An Initiationoccurs when the person begins to clear enough energeticblocks that a rush of energy from source is able to enter intothe energy field of an individual. This is usually one of the most memorable experiences and times of transformation. I have begun to use the term SKHM-Khet meaning SKHM in the bodyas a replacement for initiation. The Hieroglyph of a seatedpriest with an arrow pointed downward over his head representsSKHM. I have used this term because the word initiation does havea variety of meanings where SKHM-Khet is more explicit. The wordSKHM has also been represented as a sceptre which also represents the connectionof heaven and earth. On the top of the sceptre is also a downpointing arrow that represents heaven coming to earth. Inthe time of ancient Egypt the Pharaoh was given the SKHM sceptresignifying that the Pharaoh was holding the bridge betweenheaven and earth. In present time we all hold the sceptre. Quite often an experience during a SKHM-Khet, is a visionof being handed a sceptre or becoming a sceptre (Column) is experienced.
